Old Tyme Strength was born from a necessity for a community-based gym in 2018. Since then, it has evolved into a not-for-profit and eventually a registered charity. Our goal is to promote community participation in healthy recreational activities in Mansfield and surrounding districts by the provision of facilities for participating in the sports of powerlifting, para-powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting.
What this means is we are here to help our community by providing the information and support you need to become fitter, healthier and help you work towards any other health and fitness goals you might have.
We have all the provisions you need to participate in powerlifting, para-powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting but you needn’t think this is all we do. We also provide classes, one to one & group personal training, sports coaching, and nutritional advice.
How to start your journey
Visiting a new gym can be intimidating and we want to make your journey as easy as possible.
Step 1. Induction / Walk around.
This step is important for all abilities as we provide equipment other gyms do not.
Step 2. Free first session.
Your first session at OTS is free. Make sure you plan your visit between manned hours, so you can find your feet in the gym with no financial commitment.
Step 3. Plan for your goals.
By setting goals, you're setting yourself up for success. Do you want to take part in one of our sports or work towards health and general fitness goals?
Your Team can help you with goal setting!
Day pass or monthly membership?
Day passes are £10. Monthly memberships are £15 for 11-15 year olds and £30 for 16+ years.
Junior members must be supervised at all times.
What do I do?
Following a program increases your chances of hitting your goals!
There are a lot of options available to you. You can put together your own program, you can find one online or you can speak to your team who can give you programming options based on your individual goals.
